Post subject:  carter carb or holly carb

I have a 65 valient, with a 225 slant six. It has a 1bbl carter BBS carb its leaking fuel so I bought a holly 1920 1 bbl carb. My question is can I use that carb or should I just get the carter rebulit

Assuming you got a 1920 that's set up for use on a '60-'66 A-body, it will fit and work. I like the Carters better. Good for you for keeping it and not giving it over as a "core" to be destroyed (oops, "remanufactured"). If you put the Holley on, that'll give you time to go through the Carter completely (have the throttle body rebushed, etc.) and make it all the way right.

In my experience, I always got a Holley 1920 and I find it a very good carb for my ´71 Valiant, what is the diferiencie between a Carter or Holley for a ´71 225 engine Dan?
