My recently purchased Aust 62 has a 225 of unknown year in it...
It's been fitted with extractors by it's previous owner, and I just wanted to know if this is gonna give better performance than Durtra's or some other header system.

I can send some pics via. e-mail if anyone wants a look.

The car came with these fitted, there's obviously some work been done on the engine, just don't know to what extent yet...

Actually, i don't even know what year the engine is, It's definitely not the original 62 (has 5 freeze plugs).

"Extractors" are headers in my mind, it is just another way to discribe tube steel pipes all the way up to the head.

Yep, "Extractors" is just the Australian (also British, South African, etc.) term for what North Americans call "Headers".

are they??

obviously i no speak lingo good.
I thought that headers were more like a big beefy manifold that clamps onto the head.
Whereas extractors are just pipes comin out from the individual outlets.

I would credit you over me any day though!! My mechanics aint too good (part of the reason i'm here)!!!!!
