ok, not an expert by any means, but.... after removing the valve cover to adjust the valve lash, i noticed it's pretty dry under there.. something clogged? how about on the next oil change, i remove the valve cover, and with eyes wide and tongue hanging out i just slather oil all over the whole assembly, and let it drain down to the pan? |

With the engine idling, you should see oil dribbling evenly out of the driver's side tip of each rocker arm, and dribbling down onto each pushrod via the rear of each rocker arm. Rev the engine and you should get little spatters of oil flying. Don't expect to see gushing anywhere, but you should definitely have flow up top. If not, you've got some cleanin' to do. Make sure to get everything in the top end good and clean. Dig the endplugs out of the rocker shaft, string all the spacers and rocker arms (minus adjustors) on a steel wire, and have the whole shemozzle hot tanked. It's also possible somebody previously misinstalled the rocker shaft (upside down and/or backwards). |

I noticed you have another topic going about how hot your motor is running. I'd say you have some oiling problems. I wouldn't be driving it until I figured out why no oil is in the top end.  Sorry if I've just restated the obvious, but I didn't see anyone else making the connection. |

You might want to consider adding an oil pressure gauge. |
