| Post subject: | UCA bolt part numbers? |
Does anyone have pt.no. for the cam bolt for the upper control arm on a a-body,I checked with all of my local parts stores(Napa,Autozone,Advance Auto) and nobody could find a listing or part number which seems strange to me as I would thionk that this would be a commonally serviced part.Any help is ,as always, appreciated. Upper control arm kit 1960-1976. Moog part numbers. Shaft kit, K7030 includes bushings. two kits per car. Cam bolt kit, K8243A less bushings. two cam bolts per kit. Problem solver eccentric bushing kit provides additional camber adj, K7103 bushings only. two kits required per car. Bushing kit, K408. bushings only. 1 kit per car. |

I got carried away when ordering my suspension parts - I have a K8243A kit (2 bolts) extra - new never installed PM me if you have trouble finding them. |

I took one look at the Moog cam bolt kits and decided my original ones were much better metal and better tolerances. So far, I've never bothered to replace them on any of my cars, just cleaned them up. However, they don't have a lot of rust on them, so that might cause you to get new ones. I just blasted/wire wheeled mine clean. Lou |

Thanks Fellas,Im going to be doing this on a weekend and dont want to tie up shop area so I kinda wanted to have the bolts just in case. Charlie,thanks for the pt.nos. ,Ill run them by my parts guy tomorrow. Relic-lover,I may be getting in touch with you on your extra bolts. Dart270,if I can get the bolts out Ill probably reuse or at least clean them up and have them for spares. Thanks again. HyperValiant |

Don't forget, there are other brands available. I just happen to have a Moog catalog at home. A parts store can cross over those numbers. There was a discussion a short while back, about quality of parts. At one time, Moog was a quality part. Since they were bought by FM, I have heard some bad stories. Lou said he "didn't like the Moog shafts", so you might want to look at a different brand. I haven't bought any front end parts for the early cars in many years, except for a "front end kit" for my Cuda. Don't remember, who I got it from, but wasn't satisfied with the quality of their parts.

You can look up part numbers on napaautoparts.com or checkers.com enter in the year, model, make and click on suspension screen and it will show different parts, good, cheaper, etc. then when you go to the store you can give them the part number. this is good too , because sometimes the parts person may pull the wrong part and you can double check the part you get. |
