It was a busy weekend, but I've got my 68 Dart back on the road, and WOW what a difference. I removed the 9" manual front drums and replaced them with the 4-piston kelsey-hayes set up from a 71 Duster. I rebuilt the calipers myself, installed new pads, replaced the lower ball joints and the rubber brake lines. Installed a booster and proportioning valve from a 74 dart. Everything works great, drove it to work today and the difference is unbelievable. The old drums would stop the car but you really needed to put your leg into it. Now you just give it a little push and thats it ! The conversion also got rid of the vibration I used to have when stepping on the brakes at highway speed. I'm very pleased with the results and I still have my small bolt pattern so I didnt need to get new wheels. |

Very Nice! I am doing a '73 Dart conversion. I wanted the big bolt 'cause I put an Explorer rear in the back. I can't wait to see the difference. |
