i have some bad news guys. tonight the dart and i were involved in an accident. i turned the corner by my girlfriends house and hit a trailer parked on the street. It was very dark, there was no street light and it was parked facing traffic so there were no lights or reflectors. i almost missed it and just clipped it with the front right fender. the headlight was crushed and the fender was peeled back to about the middle of the wheel. The fender is totaled for sure. The front piece that runs across the front of the hood is messed up. the hood is bent and will need replacing. the passenger door is also creased where the fender hit it i guess. the grill is ok i think. the headlight bezel is done for as well. the fender took part of the piece that the radiator bolts to with it. i dont know how tore up that is. the radiator was leaking. my inner fender was messed up as well. it had just been painted when i had the motor out. im pretty tore up about it right now. its still under investigation but i guess things look good for me since it was parked the wrong direction. since it was a trailer, it has no insurance and isnt forced to have insurance. ive never had an accident and only had one speeding ticket since ive been driving. and i somehow manage to hit a parked trailer. i just thought u guys might understand my pain so i thought id write. ill be looking for a donor car for the hood, door and fender. will a earlier model, 67-72 fit my car? i know id have to use the hood, grill, fenders and all, but will they actually bolt up, and have the body lines line up? just an idea to ditch that massive front bumper. thanks guys, love ya'll and thanks for the help i know yall will give me.

All the '67-'76 A-body front clips interchange as far as matching body lines, etc. There may be some difficulty with bumper bracket attachment points if swapping a pre-'73 front clip onto a '73-up car or vice versa, I'm not sure. Direct functional interchange on your fender, bumper, grille assembly, etc. is '73-'76 Dart only; cosmetic interchange on grille and grille trim is '73-'74 Dart only. www.car-part.com is your friend! i'm southwest of ft worth about an hour, in stephenville. i think we've talked before. any help would be greatly appreciated Dago Red. you might know of an a-body haven up there in the metroplex that i dont know about. ill keep my fingers crossed. drop me a pm if you'd like.

i just got done having my motor and trans rebuilt and i had under the hood painted. im sick to my stomach just thinking about it. i got straight to looking for parts and or cars as soon as it happened and i have a few leads already. i'd like to find a 73 with discs and an 8.25 rear but i also think it would be neat if i could find an earlier car because i like the front clip of those better.

:o I've got a grille and an eyebrow (can't remember which side). There are a couple of wrecking yards in the south Fort Worth area that have your style Dart ( are you 2 or 4 doors? ) Figure out what you're gonna need, come on up, and I'll gather up the gang for a parts safari. I'll even buy ya breakfast.............RICK

I've got a few parts remaining on my '76 Duster that might work:

right inner fender
right fender with one small dent
radiator support
right door without glass
slant six K-frame (if yours is messed up)
hood (probably is different)

I'm about an hour and twenty minutes south of you near Temple. I want to get rid of these last few good pieces, so I can haul the remaining carcass to the scrap yard. I'll let them go pretty cheap.

If you are interested, let me know and we can discuss it. Send an e-mail or PM if you want to.

Jerry

Thanks Rick. Are you a member of the cowtownmopars message board? I joined that today and posted a want add to see what it might turn up for me with my search for parts and maybe a car. I'll let you know when I decide what my plan is. My dad came in and i haven't been able to talk to him since he has seen it. I'll see what he thinks we should do with the whole situation. It would probably be easiest to find a car in descent shape to drop my motor into while i save money up to fix my car up right. Maybe even give her that full paint job she deserves. Thanks guys, I appreciate it.

Jerry, I sent you a pm. I look forward to hearing from you. Thanks.

I could sure use a list of some good junkyards from the DFW area west and north to New Mexico. The yards I've been using have crushed just about everything of any interest to me.
