What are the tolerance spec's on such measurements? Do I need to keep the decimal to three places when doing the math? Edit: I happen to find the following calculator while looking at something entirely different. http://www.csgnetwork.com/cubicinchdispcalc.html |

If you round correctly, then it is 233 ci. This assumes 3.460" bore and 4.125" stroke. The tolerances are probably +/- 0.005" so you could get 232 or 234. Lou |

Using the +/- .005" tolerance: .055 over = 232.039 cid .060 over = 232.711 cid .065 over = 233.384 cid Calcs done keeping 9 decimal places throughout calculation, PI taken to 9 decimals (Doesn't show that my calculator only takes 9 decimal places does it? ) Using Stroke as 4.125" and standard bore size as 3.400" |

Man, all this time I've been lying about mine. It's +.065" and I call it a 232. |

okay, so to make that displacement on your tag, what did you overbore? (I won the bet against a chevy guy that tried to tell me it was 242 cubes at .060 over......I just guessed it couldn't be that big....don't know what formula he used) |

Well, y'know, those hot-air horsepower numbers the Chivvy guys are always bleating about have to come from somewhere...the logical place is from imaginary cubic inches!

Well, Y'all know the old saying......"There's no replacement for displacement". Roger |
