anybody ever use anything from painless wiring? how would you rate it? |

Most of their stuff is well engineered, though some of it inexplicably isn't. What are you thinking of using? |

I used a couple of their fuse panels in my Duster and thought they were OK. I have a buddy who used a Painless harness to put an injected 5.0 motor in his '64 Falcon. It worked very well. He had trouble getting it running and their Tech line was very helpful.

I realize this may raise a few eyebrows, but I was thinking of gutting the entire system and going with all new gauges. I have re-designed the dash, and have a couple ideas I want to use. I am a machinist in a plastic fab shop so I can make about anything I need. when I parked the car, the wiring was in rough shape. it had been driven as the daily driver for quite a few years until I parked it (I live in minnesota, and the winters here can be harsh). I already had to replace everything for the rear of the car due to corrosion. I was just looking for opinions on their quality, since I am not looking for a restoration type rebuild. nothing is original on this car (75 duster) in most cases anyway. |

I haven't looked into what PW offers as far as dashboard wiring assemblies, but given what I've seen of their similarly-orientated stuff, I can't think of a better source for prefab. |

sick 6, do you have a pic of what you're going to design you dash like? i was thinking of doing one, but since you work in the plastic shop and all.... i'm defintly going painless path, my cousin had the same exact car as i, (70 Valiant) and used a painless kit, the t-bucket i think it was called he said it worked excellent for what he needed |

valiantboywonder: I don't have a pic right now, just a few sketches........but I can give you a link to what inspired me to do this: http://www.slantsix.com/UBB/Forum11/HTML/000325.html I have looked into where he had it done, and I know I can do it cheaper myself. the difference is mine will not have the "set back in the housing" look, mine will be a flat back board. |

I have checked out the painless wiring site, and I can't find anything for mopar. It says I can check out the local distributor (autozone) for more info.....but the people at my local one have spent too much time in the sun if you know what I mean. anyone have a known part number for mopar or am I doomed to a universal kit? (by the way, once I get a blueprint for my gauge set up I can post it if anyone is interested.) |
