Post subject:  73 Upper control arms

i was wondering when i change out my drums for disk do i need to get new upper control arms?

one more thing What do i need to Change out my drums to disk. so i can keep my eyes open at the junkyards.

Master cylinder and proportioning valve for sure, and possibly the hard lines (unless yours can be bent without damage).

On a 1973 car you do not have to change the upper control arms when swapping from drum to disc. They do have different part numbers for some unknown reason though so there must be a difference between drum and disc UCA's. But the difference doesn't seem to matter.

I had a 73 Scamp (definitely all original)and the UCA's had the small ball joint as well as drums all the way around. I seem to recall reading that a lot of 73-76s with drums had that set-up.
