Ok, after new pistons, rings, rod bearings, timing chain, and a carb rebuild I buttoned it all up and fired it up.... she purrs nicely except for a slight grinding noise that seems to eminate from the vacinity of the flywheel.It's sort of a steady white noise kind of sound with an overlapping intermitent grind. It's loud enough to hear in the cab. I don't remember that noise beibg present before the rebuild.
I pulled the lower cover off the bellhousing and took a look nothing odd in there...
I'm hoping it's not a bearing... perhaps the starter is not disengaging?
Anyone have any ideas?
