Can anyone out there in /6 land e mail me a photo of the hold down clamp for their pre 1980 distributor. And if any one has a pre 1980 distributor out of their car can you e mail me a photo of the shaft of the distributor where the hold down ring is. I bought a Unilite dist from slantsixdan but it is for a pre 1980 engine. Mallory's tech line was not very helpful. I want to see if I can adapt this distributor to my 1985 engine or if I'll have to resell the Unilite on Ebay and buy one for a later model /6. Just swap the clamping plate off your stock distributor onto the Unilite -- that's what the bolt hole in the cam-shaped piece is for -- and use the factory clamp. If for some reason that won't work (e.g. you're missing parts), then grab the bigger clamp plate from an earlier slant and bolt that to the Unilite distributor. All-year slant-6 distributors fit all-year slant-6 engines. |
