This 727 is off a 318 v8. Will it mate to my 225 using the early truck adapter plate and crank adapter shown below? Or, would the early slant adapter accept the A500 OD auto trans bellhousing pattern?

What year's the trans, and what year's the engine?

That is a truck 727 with the short tailshaft and the bolt on yoke. What do you plan to do about a slip yoke?

I was told the motor/trans was out of a 77 pickup. My plan is to use the truck adapter along with the trans in my 51 Plymouth. Looks like the starter mount is low, so I would also be concerned about the clifford shortie headers interfering with the starter location.
What I really want is a auto OD trans coupled to the 225 and thought the adapater could make it happen. The adapter is out of a 60's truck using the 727 trans......? The rear axle is a Ford 8" so a custom driveshaft will be made.

What do you guys think?

What are you going to do for a slip yoke?

Dan. My motor is from a 73 Duster.

Cecil. I'm not sure about the slip yoke. I wanted a short trans but maybe with the bolt on yoke kills that. I

I really like the idea of an OD auto though. I can't find any 904's aroung here (or 833 od's) so I am exploring my options.
