Since I bypass the osac value, when I step on the gas pedal, I don't get a stumble. I think with it connected, it is like a longer route for the vacuum to go to distributor, not really sure... I will have to reconnect as I just got a summons for a emission test....

The OSAC valve delays the vacuum going to the distributor by at least 10-15 seconds. It activates every time your engine returns to idle and prevents vacuum advance until you reach (or get close to) cruising speed.

Reduces peak combustion chamber pressure/temperature, thereby reducing the formation of NOx, a toxin in itself and a precursor to photochemical smog.

As far as exhaust emissions go, there was enough of a difference when the cars were being run on the EPA's ludicrously unrealistic test fuel (100 octane Indolene) during the EPA's ludicrously unrealistic test protocol for the cars to pass the EPA's poorly-conceived new-car emission regulations.

And yes, the OSAC valve makes the car run like poo.
