I have a 1982 dodge d150 pickup, I need a new distributor. The only ones I can find at my local parts stores and junkyard does not have the right clamp. Mine has the "Chevy style" clamp... does anyone know where I can get one....dual pickup,w/o modual, with vacuum advance??? Thanks |

Just swap the pickup plate ring off your distributor and onto the replacement, if everything else about the replacement is correct. What's the trouble with your distributor? All the internal pieces can be individually replaced... |

I let one of my buddies work on it while I was out of town and he took it to the parts store and turned it in on a core charge.. There is no way of getting it back! |

Ouch, that sucks hard. Been there and done that. Never return anything for a "core charge"! You knew that, but sounds like your buddy didn't. I just checked www.rockauto.com and it looks like Cardone (*shudder*) can supply the distributor you need. A "reman" unit is definitely not first preference, but at this point you haven't got a whole lot of options, as it seems. |
