It's about time for new tires on the front of my valiant (choppy, lumpy, and wearing on the inside). Before spending money on tires I would like to align the front end. Yesterday I pulled the car into the shop put it on a lift and said a little prayer to the god of rusty bolts. The first cam bolt I tried turned relatively easily. The second bolt is frozen solid. The suspension is original 1965 and I expected the bolts to be rusted to the inner shell but is there an easy way to remove the bolts. The last time I did this I had to cut the bolts off with a grinder. I also know that a sawzall does not much more than make noise against these bolts. I definately want to stay away from the torch. Any suggestions.

Soak it in PB Blaster. Spray it on and let it soak in. The suspension bolts on my '64 came off with no real problem.

Despite lots of penetrating oil and patience, my adjusting bolt eventually just snapped off and I ended up cutting through the saddle with a Dremel 409 disk. That worked, but was slow going.
