Does anybody know where I can find the correct glue-on door weatherstripping for my 1982 D-150? I ordered some from JC Whitney and is the clip on type. It is too thick so my doors won't shut. I found some glue-on weatherstripping but is for a 75 D-150. Will it fit my 82? |

I tried the weatherstrip from JCWhitney on my 1987 Dodge that was factory equipped with the clip on weaterstrip. The JCWhitney stuff was TOO stiff and I could not get the door shut. I had to order it from Chrysler. Take a look on Ebay. There are several sellers who have military surplus Dodge Truck parts and they always have the glue on weatherstripping. I bought a set from one of the sellers several years ago, Nice stuff. I have it packed away awaiting use on my 1979 truck some day. |

Okay, I searched E-bay and came up with some glue-one weatherstrip for 73-77 Dodge pickups. Will this fit my 82 ? |

The ones I bought on ebay were from Saturnsurplus. Here's an old listing. They don't have any current listings but I expect there are more. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayI ... 7988836036 I would ask them and see if they know. I do not know if these fit your 82 or not but I suspect they will. (Edit- additional informatoin) OK , I looked up part number 3899371 on lightningjar.com and it says DT 78-83 PICKUP FRONT DR W’STRIP ON BODY |

Get the latest version from the dealer or Soft Seal. It's more flexible than early designs and has vent holes to release air faster when it compresses. You might have to adjust your doors after installing a new seal. I had to do that on my '73. BTW, I thought every door from that generation had clip-on seals. I've never seen any that glue on. The ones I got for mine were a '91 part number and I think that's when the holes were added. |

Yeah, my 82 had the clip on. I ordered replacement from JC Whitney, and if I hadn't been to lazy to re-adjust my doors, it would have been great. As is, it takes a bit of a slam to close the door.
