I have a 1967 dart GT convertible. My wife would like to have air conditioning. I am going to use an under dash unit. Does anyone know if they make an after market mounting bracket for the sanyo compressor?

The compressor you're thinking of is the Sanden unit, and yes, there is a slant-6 bracket for it. You can get everything you need from www.ackits.com (call them up, not everything's on the site).

Late model slant cars and trucks have brackets that work. I modified one from a '79 Aspen to work with a Sanden compressor. I had to fabricate two simple C-shaped adapters out of 1/8" aluminum.

When I installed the AC in my Valiant a couple of years ago, no one made an aftermarket bracket for slants...at least I couldn't find one.

There have been aftermarket A/C compressor brackets available for the slant continuously for the last 40 years or so.

That might well be, but they are not advertised any place a first time installer would be looking and that includes my local AC wholesale supply house and Vintage Air.

I got a "Kit for my 65 from Classic Auto Air. It was the absolute worst POS kit. The only decent thing in it was the compressor. The Bracket put the Compressor into the radiator if I used it, the evaporator was undersized and the switches onit were crap. IMO.
