I have a 1962 valiant and I bought a 1973 duster for a suspension upgrade. I was planning to use the whole 73 suspension from the torsion bars to the upper control arm. Upon checking the old lca bushings they appear to be offset where the rubber replacements bushiings are not.Do I have to use the 62 lca to make this swap work. The 73 donor car is a v/8 auto with a/c and disc brakes. |

I believe the main difference in lower control arms would be the sway bar tab location, if present. The old bushings may be misshapen from age. Hey - they're rubber and they're old! I haven't heard of offset bushings for the lower control arms. There are offset UPPER control arm bushings (Moog K7103) These were designed to add some range to camber adjustment, but can be installed with the offsets opposed to give additional caster range. I'm just finishing swapping in disks from a '74 Duster into my '64 Valiant, and I reused the original '64 lower control arms with the '74 uppers and knuckle. I did make some reinforcement plates for the lowers while I had them off. Something like this: http://moparmusclemagazine.com/tipstric ... trol_arms/ So far, it all fits. |

I don't believe anyone has made offset lower control arm bushings. They are probably distorted and ready to eat up your metal suspension parts, as slantvaliant said. Offset uppers can be had from Moog. Lou |

Thanks for the info guys. The rubber looks old but it surprised me that there is no slop between the spindle bolt and the control arm. I think I lucked out on the uca it has the moog problem solver ball joints |

I swapped the entire front suspension from a '75 Dart into my '65 Dart. The suspension mounting points are the same. |
