Does anyone know of someone in or near the Atlanta, Georgia area that does race car chassis work?

I've got a RWD conversion project that I need someone to help finish.

The car has been caged and back-halfed, but the builder quit doing chassis work before finishing the modifications to the front suspension.

That's the main part I need help with is figuring out the front suspension and steering. I'm willing to start over with that part and suck it up and go with a Mustang II set up to make it easier if the person doesn't want to mess with trying to make the current set up work.

I'm currently in Iraq, so the coordination wold be through email and friends that I can ask to deliver the car and pick it up.

If anyone knows of someone that might be willing to take on such a projcet I'd appreciate you letting me know.

I'd really like to have the main chassis set up and possibly the engine and transmission mounts done before I return to the states. I can do the wiring and plumbing, etc. as a project with the youth group kids when I get back, but I can't do the chassis and welding stuff myself.

Any help would be appreciated! Thanks.

Thanks Tom.

Columbus is down South by Fort Benning about 2-3 hours away I think.

I'll ask around through the North Georgia Mopar Club too.

It's just above the Florida state line a little further South than Columbus. Thanks again. I may have another lead there in Atlanta as well. I'll keep you posted.

I'll give it a try. I didn't realize Dale had his car down that far. I thought he was just adding a Pro Charger. His Arrow is already one of the premier cars in the series! Yeesh.

I'll see if I can dig up his number. Thanks.

Thanks Tom! I just sent him an email. That's in the right area anyway. It looks like he does some pretty serious work. And he's a Mopar guy too.

I am finding that many people don't want to take on a project that someone else started. Especially one where we were trying to save money by using existing parts. All of the bigger chassis shops I have contacted so far say they only do complete projects in house. Maybe liability, or having their name associated with something that they didn't do completely, but probably the biggest thing is effort on their part. They have a system of building cars that works for them and they don't want to mess with trying to figure out how to make something different work. Time is money I guess.

Thanks for giving me the different links. I'm still looking and will keep you updated.

It is a shame the project is not closer to Charlotte. I know a couple of good builders in the area that I am sure would be willing to take it on...

I will keep asking around for someone in GA.

Well, I spoke with Joel (the chassis builder on the Turismo) and he is back into doing work on cars again! :o

He's busy, but said he would see if he could find some time to mess with the Turismo a little bit more.

Thanks for everyone's help. Especially Tom!

I'll keep y'all posted on any progress.
