Here's a place where you can plot your engine on a turbos compressor map.

what mods did you make to your engine for the turbo? Do you have a super six or hyper pak setup? where are you locating the turbo? are you using an intercooler? thanks for any help.

The engine in my car is stock with shaved head and Os valves
intake is a 4bbl weiand with an edelbrock 500

when I am ready for the turbo stuff December hopefully,

i'll just swap the head with a stock head and valves, only ported
and a 244 cam using the stock exhaust also

carb will be a holley 350 2bbl

I will be just experimenting with this to hopefully make it work right
and only then I will go bigger...

for turbo I think I will get a nissan 300zx turbo....however it might be a little small

I am looking at ebay every dayfor turbo's I might get a good deal....

If you want good info
go to www.fordsix.com <-- there are 2 setups here that will definitly will work on a slant 6

www.turbomustangs.com <-- here you will get more info than you could ever read

for books I got myself
21st century turbo available at www.gatorsuperchargers.com also allot of info available at their yahoo groups
super tuning and modifying holley carburators
and Turbochargers

for now I am just playing with my n/a engine trying to make it work right

I personally think you should stop listening to the Fordsix guys and use the Edelbrock. The only reason they are using the 350 Holley is because their intergal log intakes can't use anything else. You are not limited by that little problem. If I remeber rightly, there is an excellent articule on turbomustangs on how to setup the Carter AFB/Edelbrock carburators for blow-thru turbocharging.

not to worry because I also got myself a few more edel jets and a marine pump as suggested in the turbomustang article....

I am going to try the holley first then the edelbrock

Cool, are you going blow-through or draw-through?

very nice Doc

That was my plan in the first place draw thru setup with a buick turbo

but now I am going blow thru

any of you guys may know if I will get better fuel distribution in boosted conditions If I mod my intake like this?rotate the carb 90 degrees

Thanks

the draw thru has some basic engineering flaws....they do have a tendency to ice up below 50 F ambient. also you can quickly over-carb a draw thru, with a draw thru, you are actually carburating each cylinder with the total boosted cfm of the total carb since the intake is actually feeding its full preassure to each cylinder one at a time. you will also have to rejett and also use a bigger excelerator pump. finally, with a draw thru, you need to have the fuel/air mix flow always in a gravity situation, hard to do since the coil of the compressor side requires the mix to go uphill as it travels around the housing so you will have fuel puddling. Truly, the blow thru is the best setup. alot less modifications anld also a lot less issues. grt
