I should get my head back from the shop this week. It was magnifluxed and pressure tested with no cracks. All new valves w/ 3 angle grind. Assuming the machinist does his job right, can the head be bolted right on, and varoom, or will I have to make adjustments for lash? If so, I assume this is done with the head on the block. Obviously, I've never done this before so any direction would gratefully be appreciated. Jim |

You will need to adjust the valves, for sure. When putting on a reworked head, it's best to do a rough adjustment cold, setting the intake valves to 0.020" and the exhausts to 0.030". Then, follow this procedure for the final adjustment. |
