How many cars were in the class? Always good to hear about someone putting everyone else on the fast track to home! Keep up the good work. Nice trophy too!! Congratulations! Rick |

OK well there were only 5 cars registered in trophy class, and one of them didn't show up for eliminations. my first round I lined up with a hemi Durango. She cut a bad light and I let off at the big end to make sure I wasn't breaking out. I dialed a 16.40 and ran a 16.93 and STILL beat her by over a carlength. my brother in law was eliminated by a camaro running 13.45's in his 20 second colt. So the finals came down to me in with a slipping trans(I'll tell about that later in virtual dragstrip) and the camaro. I cut a .082 light and launched almost 3 seconds before him. then I heard on the radio that he red lighted. WOO HOO I'd rather be lucky than good! then I still wanted to beat him to the finish line. I almost did he go me by a door at the end. I lost 2 tenths due to the trans slipping and ran a 16.60. The anouncer did mention that I was running a slant though. |

Great work Phil, you are luck to have a brother interested in racing to help you out. Great job of showing them what a slant six can do. Hope your trans problem gets resolved. Wish I could help. If I'm really lucky, I'll get one night of test and tune before Indy. |

No I think her husband saw how small the trophy class was and talked her into running the Durango. I guess he figured you never know. When they told me to pick out one of the class winner trophys I couldn't believe how big it was either. I also got a little sticker for the window that says Class Champion. |

Schweeeet! I used to win the Friday Night Trophy Dash at Firebird in Phoenix, AZ with my bone stock '72 Swinger running high 19s to low 20s. It was really consistent though. They just had plaques for the Friday night stuff, but they were cool. I sure do miss drag racing. |
