Hey there. I'm making a fool outta myself again (my specialty) but I HAVE to ask...

wich one of the hoses is the one that sends water into the core? the one that comes from the head, am I right? the return is the one that plugs on the water pump just above the lower rad hose?

Eso!, pero yo tengo igual mis mangueras, la entrada al Heater Core es desde la cabeza de la maquina y el retorno es a la bomba de agua y todo funciona muy bonito.

My replacement heater core had two different sized inlet/outlet, so it
was obvious.

And how they are connected?, the problem here is the inlet/outlet is the same size.

Same here... while we had some factory improvements such as OEM electronic ignition kinda before the US market, we got stucked on the progress of our beloved slants. Never got the revsited combustion chamber head, nor the 5 plugs block, etc. On the other hand we got the dart GT '65 with factory installed dual 1 barrel carbs...
As far as for heater core is concerned, both connections has always been the same size... does it makes any diffrence to the heater core itself? I mean, as long as you're cutting the water inlet to the core, it will remain cool (kinda) am I rigth? I started this topic cuz when I assembled the whole car I made a mistake and connected the sender hose straight to the core and the return hose to the cut off valvle wich is cleverly positioned on the engine bay, wich made it close the outlet of the heater core with its consequent pressure build up inside the core and subsequent leaks...

I believe the a body heater control airflow, not water? :?

I think water is always flowing thru the heater core...

But the air is directed "around" the core, when you want cool air?

My 67 doesn´t have a water valve of any kind, and not the 80 aspen either. :?

see? local adaptation. I have a water valvle that closes the water inlet (if you're not a moron like me and connect the hoses wrong way) when you slide the lower lever all to the driver's side.
