The ignition switch died on my '65 Valiant, and I removed the electrical plug that connected to the switch (to start the car on a temporary basis). There was a positive lead, and leads for Acc, ign1, ign2, and starter. I tied together the ign1, ign2, and acc, and applied power, then temporarily applied power to the starter lead to start the car. It ran, but seemed a little rough, but when I experimented by disconnecting the ign2 lead, the car ran better. What does the ign2 lead run to? Is it OK to run the car with it disconnected?
