Nice group! One word of advice, I'd stay out the holley/webber carbs. They're not holleys neither webbers and they run like crap (IMHO and experience). You can always take a not-so-neutral choice and go carter, holley, eddy... etc. I personally like holleys but I have to give that any metering rods carb are way more stable in the mixture and simple. Power valvles can blow, the enrichment ain't progressive but "ka-POWWWWW I kicked In" and the fuel economy of a holley can never be compared to a good tuned carter (carters being better) |

I'm still looking at the picture trying to find the body damage and the windsheild problem (seal?) on the Duster...for an abandoned A-body, that's really nice. Don't worry about your carb, it's been tryed by several members with good success. If you are after mileage on a holley, annular venturis, slightly lean jetting, and using a 'staged' power valve picked by the vaccuum values on highway cruise and full throttle values per 'the book' will help. If the carb is a pre-95 it will need to be drilled and an anti-backfire valve installed ($6), during the rebuild. thanks for sharing, -D.Idiot |
