I have been posting quite a bit lately, sorry for sucking up so much server space. here is another problem I am having.

here is the lowdown:

1966 Dodge Dart 270 with slant six and 3-speed auto.
when i make a good solid right hand turn, i hear a grinding coming from my front driver's side wheel. is it my wheel bearing? (last time i heard a bad wheel bearing it would grind in unison with speed and constantly). so maybe not. is it a bad spring (torsion bar and bad shock) cause when i make the turn and when the shock is fully loaded (the car is sinking 100% on the driver's side) that is when the sound is the MOST prevalent.

I am kind of in the dark right with this one right now.

help me please.

Have you done a disk brake conversion??????

I've had worn out pads do that............... going straight they're fine, turn one way or the other (but just one way), and it'll grind.........

Otherwise I could see it being a bearing as the loading on inside/outside bearings would change in a turn.......

maybe shock worn, try bouncing front of car
and see if stops within one bounce, if not
could be worn.

I would look for shining spots on the back of the rims. I've seen cars make mysterious grinding noises when the suspension is loaded just right so that the rim would make contact with the ball joint. It's not likely but a possibility.

stops in one bounce?!???! HAHAHA surely yuou jest. my car rides like it is a boat in wavy waters. the shocks and springs are SHOT!!. i cant afford to replace them yet, but my dad might pitch in on that since he helped with the '73. anyhow. I will inspect the back side of the wheel and check the suspension for unusual wear from rubbing.

i still have all drums all the way around. I am looking to convert, but that is $500 in the future. anyhow. iwill check and update you all.
