I am having instrument and gauge issues on my 66 Barracuda.

I have two of the "Economy Gauge" standard dashs.
(Original and "parts/to be restored")

I removed the dash, 320grit buffed the contact points, continuity tested the traces and bulbs.

I noticed that the single wire coming out of the voltage limiter was down to one strand.

Does ANYone know where to find one of these?

I've seen the page with the more "modern" one using three wires. I got one, and made the wires) but i was not sure which connections to attach to so...

You can make your own from a 7805 solid state voltage regulator and a 10uf electrolytic capacitor. You'll also need a heat sink for the 7805. All the parts are available at radio shack for about $5.00 and the instructions are here:

What you have to do is measure the voltages. The guages are supplied with 5 volts from the regulator and the regulator needs 12v input. Guages from models after about '63 will have 2 connectors, 5v in and sender out, sometimes labeled "5v" and "S". You should be able to find the 12V on the instrument panel circuit board. This info applies whether you construct your own or buy a mechanical regulator. Hope this helps.

My 66 is a single wire, but the rest looks great! I'll give it a shot.
