I am about to start up my freshly rebuilt 74 225, and was wondering for the break in period, if the racers here use anything special.

its higher compression now, 11 to 1, clifford cam, offy intake and holley 4 barrel 390.

on all my previous builds I used quaker state and changed it after a couple hundred miles without any trouble, but the last machine shop only had bad things to say about it recently.

Hey dave

there's a couple of great hints by Doc (Doug Dutra) and others about breaking in procedures...

do a search using, i.e. first miles as keywords, or something like that
