I need some help or opinions here. What stall speed converter should I run??I will be running a full race motor with a 530" lift cam and a 4.10 rear. I plan on using the car for race only or maybe short trips to the car cruise. The car is a 74 Duster with a stock body. Will the cars weight play a role in converter selection?? Also, which brands are best?? Thanks, Brian

Dennis and I have had great luck with Midwest converters (search on google). Others have had good luck with PTC in GA and Continental and Edge Racing in CA.

For your car, I would recommend a 32-3400 stall 9.5" converter. Will be around $400 shipped and they have fast service. Car weight does influence, but if you tell the company your car/engine specs, they can design the converter to stall where you want it. Make sure you know your specs well, though...

I should add that a good converter is one of the most rewarding modifications on a racecar. I picked up almost a full second in the quarter going from a stock converter to my current 2800 stall unit (milder motor build than yours).
