Can anyone tell me whether the trunk with fake spare tire was an option in 1962, or did this trunk lid cease in '61? I have a '61 Chrysler 300G with the "sport deck lid", meaning spare tire in trunk lid, but it might have not have come that way. So my first question is my real question. Thanks.

No, it was not. The only A-bodies that got it were '60-'61 Valiants, and all of them got it. It will, however, bolt onto a '61-'62 Lancer or '62 Valiant not originally so equipped, if for some reason you gotta have it.
