i have thought about getting the twin scoops for my dart and making her perty...but i have a question...is there a way to make the scoops functional because i dont like the idea of stick unfunctionallity** on there....but i dont want to mess up things either...professional advice is appreciated.....DUSTIN

I was going to add air to my duster, as in fabbing up a plastic peice that mounts behind the grille. I plan to post some pics once it is done.

my question is, and I have to admit my ignorance here since I have never owned anything with a scoop, how do you keep the weather out (rain and such)? do you just have a foam type insert or do you just rely on the air filter?

It depends on the scoop as to how (if) it deals with rain. With the setup on the Duster, the scoops cover the holes in the hood, so rain cannot fall in directly. Blowing rain (or forward movement of the car) is another matter. The flanges I used (sink drain traps with the bottoms cut out) install from the top with a seal, such that it is above the hood surface by about .100", so only the heaviest droplets make their way into the hose, and most of those impact on the back of the scoop, wash down and around the flange. I have driven in heavy, driving rain and never had a problem with this setup. Only trace moisture inside the hoses which never makes it up as far as the filter. ...of course, I have seen dragonflies and such splatted on the filter element!
