CharlieS and I found this at the Turkey Rod Run in Daytona over Thanksgiving weekend. ![]() The manifold appeared to be made of steel and painted with a can of hammer tone gray. ![]() The carbs were some kind of Holley 2bbl. ![]() The ehx manifold was changed to a side exit and the heat riser was eliminated. ![]() I don't think you'll break this motor mount! ![]() Here's the rat rod it was in, looks to be an old Dodge truck cab. |

Man, I like that a lot. I've done something similar with Carter/weber carbs to go into my 51 Plymouth. ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Those multicarb settings look absolutely stunning. Almost makes me wish I'd gone with something like that instead of the turbo/EFI route, just for the visual impact. |

WOW!!! ![]() that slant&rat setup looks stunning! man, did you use that 6 pack pre-setup that showed up on ebay some time ago? the plenum is completely opened? I mean, did you weld some separator between carbs or the 3 carbs goes to a common plenum and then to the base of those adapters? I really lookmup to your work there. |

Both setups look spectacular slant6rat. I would love to hear more about your setup, and when you plan to start selling the kits (you are gonna offer them to the board soon aren't you ![]() Brian |

I started out with that crazy steel triple setup I got off Epay. Near as I could figure the pattern was for the big Rochester carbs, which I didn't want. I already had the Carter/Weber carbs I had planned to use on my Ply flathead motor but got a wild hair and decided to use the slant just to be different. So the result had to be a plenum to make them work. The plenum is attached to the the intake plates. My NOS bungs will be as close to the intake ports as possible. Anyway, its different and thats what I like. No plans to compete with Clifford or Offy on the intake. I have some more pictures here: http://www.picturetrail.com/elplymino |

Those intakes are really incredible, very heartwarming to see serious rodding going on with the old slant/6. I am very interested in the one going in the 51 Plymouth. I'm in the early stages of getting one into my 50 Plymouth Suburban wagon. I'd like to trade info/questions with you on that install. I went with a Clifford intake, 2bbl carb since I had it on the shelf, and a stock exhaust with high temp coating. I went with the slant/6 from having had so many over the years and always liking them. It fits the style of the wagon and gives me all the bells and whistles, power steering, ac, electronic ignition etc. PS I build disc conversion kits for that 51 Plymouth if you need one. |

Cool stuff! My hat is off to all that custom metal fabrication work and long neat "beads" of welding, total skill and craftmanship. You have to have done some of that kind of work to really appriciate how much time and skill it takes. DD |

Thanks for all the kind words. Doc, good to see you on the board. You hit it on the head about the welding. Thats another story it itself, and to make a short story long, heres the tale. I've been going to the same muffler shop since the early 60's and asked my friend to weld it up. He's an old time, circle track, early 60's drag racer. He said he could do it(he's got to be pushing 70 by now and still owns his shop), but would rather ask his friend to do it because he owed him a favor and thought he would be able to do a better job. I said O.K. Two days later I got it back as you see it. Free! I am blessed! Cecil. I noticed the adapter and wondered about the trans he used. And, I apologize for highjacking your post! ![]() olddaddy. I will get a PM to you. |

both of those are cool. very cool indeed. as for the why dont do both comment. look at this link. it is overseas. but a turbo slant six with triple dellarto sidedrafts. says he puts 564 hp to the pavement. http://marko.salmi.emdia.fi/customers/cust6.htm congrats. there is a 32 ford roaming around here with a slant in the front. it gets alot of looks .no turbos or anything but definatley different. |
