Post subject:  Winter alignment specs
Can performance alignment spec cause a car to be less stable in bad traction conditions like snow and ice. I was just wondering cuz my valiant is set a little on the extreme side and don't want to slide it into a field. it is set to +5 caster -1camber (degrees) and 1/8" total toe in. I love the steering on dry pavement but haven't had on real snow yet. Thanks in advance.

I haven't noticed a big difference, but have had limited snow duty since my recent alignments. I would think the camber and toe would be the important ones. Your toe is nearly stock, and 1deg camber isn't that much. The camber change will also work with the tire tread type as to whether it's better or worse in the snow.

I would set the camber at vertical (0) then make sure the nut behind the wheel didn't come loose. :D

Personally, I loved doing donuts (cheerios, broadies, 180's, 270's, 360, 540's) in the Mopar compacts. Never found any other car to be as controllable or predictable.
