I wanted to throw out my minor problem and see if I could get any replies. I bought the 2bbl DGV Weber conversion for my car and it runs great. If I open the primary barrel alone it's perfect. If I open the secondary barrel alone, it's perfect (can only be done by hand, not while driving). If I open both of them together a la wide open throttle, WHOA ![]() When I got the Weber I didn't know it had so many adjustable properties. There are air correction jets and accelerator pump nozzles, the main jets and an idle jet for each barrel! I don't know where to start in eliminating the hesitation that appears when both barrels open. Obviously, too much air is getting into the engine. Before I go spending upwards of $5 a jet I wanted to tap into the vast experience of the Slant Six community ![]() Any thoughts will be read in earnest! |

Just necessarily bored .040 over on a rebuild, everything else is factory because I live in metropolitan NY where the speed traps are like weeds and traffic lets you go 50 mph... if you're lucky The only reason a weber is on there is because I cracked the stock 1920 trying to tighten it down! |

is it a progressive 2bbl? i have heard they can tricky to tune. first step is to get a book on tuning webers. i think HPBooks publishes a good one. zedpapa |

Sounds like an accelerator pump issue. The problem isn't too much air as much as too little fuel. |

It is progressive; the secondary is mechanical and only opens past 3/5th throttle. Thanks for your replies. Once the huge (total loss of power) hesitation passes it gets going nicely Just have to plan traffic merging more, not a problem since I ride a 250cc motorcycle also |

Hate to ask, but is this using a 2-1 barrel adapter, or a super six manifold? |

I'm using that tall small-to-wide carb adapter that usually comes with 1bbl -> 2bbl kits like these. I might be able to phrase the problem a different way: what is the condition when you step on the throttle and the car immediately hesistates, but then gets going after half a second? This is what happens when I arrive on the second barrel. I don't think it's the main jets in the second barrel because the car keeps pulling nicely after the hesitation, all the way to speeds-not-advised It might be the accelerator pump nozzle (there's one for each barrel, sticking out like a support beam over the barrel, that shoots fuel downward directly into the carb throat) is too small on the second barrel as Matt suggested. I was wondering if anyone else had had tuning problems with the DGV Weber conversion |
