Hello All! I have a '64 225 /6 with a 727 trans and since I've owned it I've had a heck of time finding parts for the speedo gear adapter. I'm particularly looking for the plate that actually bolts the adapter into the tail section. Seems I've misplaced it since tearing the transmission down. Here's a pic to help out... ![]() Thanks |

Is that a ratio converter, or just a right-angle adaptor? Seems to me you could use a standard '62-'65 speedo cable (with the end that plugs directly into the early trans, looks just like the in-trans end of your adaptor). If you need ratio adaptation, an inline ratio adaptor is not a hard thing to find... |

I believe it's just a right angle adapter. From watching the cable side turn as I turn the gear side it's seems 1:1. Still gonna need to use adapter since I switched the speedo to a digital aftermarket. where could I find the inline ratio adapters? if nothing else to find the piece that I'm missing from mine... |

i can't remrmber what it looks like exactly, but you could probably fab one of those pieces fairly easily until you can find the real thing. maybe a fenderwasher and a little grinding? -james |

It is like a minature distributer hold down, for the late model slants, or most V-8's. It can be made from a piece of flat stock. |

Don't understand. How will your speedo know whether you've got the adaptor or not?Quote: where could I find the inline ratio adapters? if nothing else to find the piece that I'm missing from mine...
A speedo shop, but it won't supply you the parts you're after.

with the aftermarket digital gauge I have to use a speedo sender that screws in where there would otherwise be a mechanical cable... thanks for the info! I've already have a small chunk of flat stock left over from some other project that will work great. Thanks again |

I bet Pat Blais (tflitepatty@verizon.net) has the parts you need. |
