Ok, as far as stock engines go, all slants were internally balanced, correct? It just ame up when I was talkin to a guy today, and he said they switched from internal to external when they switched to cast cranks. |

The Mopar manual lists a different damper for the cast crank engines and also state that they will not interchange. The Mopar book is wrong, and that is where most people got the idea that cast cranks are externally balanced. ![]() |

Just to follow up with 'zila...the only thing different about the damper is where they cut the timing mark and how many spokes it has...if you get the timing chain cover off a cast crank donor mill and the matching damper, you're good to go with that 1968 forged crank mill.... -d.idiot |
