One would think that with all the time I spend lurking on this forum, that I might have figured this out on my own, but if I upgrade to bigger valves for my street 225, what would the installation entail, and which valves would be recommended. Can I do this in the shop without completely screwing it up?

thanks, josh

SI - Check the link-

Probably best to have a shop handle cutting the valve seats in - Thoughts anyone?

I second the SI Valve choice. I just put their stainless stock size valves in my rebuild. Very nice valves. Highly recommended.

So, what would go into putting the 1.70 1.44 valves in place of my stock valves? I'm worried that I may not be able to find a shop that can do it for me.

Anybody that can do a good valve job shouldn't have a problem installing larger valves. This would be a good time to install hardened valve seats for the exhaust.

Awesome. I just called around and there's a shop right up the road from me that can do it all within my meager budget. Thanks for this info.

I have a set of those SI Valves the 1.70/1.44/... although they don't "look" much bigger, they are useable without a major over bore, they use a stock lock (no special keepers to buy), and the back cut on the stem is really nice...
