I shaved .0100" off the head in my duster - Daily driver.

I am still using the factory champion plugs from the owners manual at the moment.

{I dont want this to be another thread about who likes what brand Plug}

I want to know if I should consider another heat range plug with that much shaved off of the head.
Thanks, Greg

Look over this site. http://www.sparkplugs.com/default.asp Might be able to answer some of your questions.

If you shaved 0.010" off the head, then no, there's no need to consider a different heat range. If you actually shaved 0.100", then that's significant, and you might want to look at going one heat range colder, for the higher compression created by a 0.100" mill will tend to increase combustion chamber temperatures, which will aggravate a tendency to ping, which will cause you to retard your timing, and that will reduce your MPGs.

If you're using standard plugs, try the extended-nose variety (NGK ZFR5N, for example).

Thanks Guys - I will look into it, and thanks for not turning this into a spark plug debate thread. There are plenty of those around...
