Dashing through the snow...
Gaaaahh!
I just spewed transmission fluid all over the street!
PO Installed an external cooler. When I remounted it after changing out the radiator, I didn't check the hose clamps for tightness. What a mess.
All tightened up now, but it would be nice to get rid of the thing and run through the transmission cooler in the radiator. Does Chrysler still sell the lines, or am I headed to the Power Transmission shop?

Pretty sure the trans cooler lines weren't serviced as a pre-bent item. As was the case with the brake hardlines, they were serviced/replaced by using a tubing bender to create new ones. I'm sure you could get nicely bent ones from one of the repro tubing companies that advertise in all the Mopar mags. Me, I consider the cooler hardlines a pain in the butt. They get in the way of exhaust upgrades. They run right by the hot exhaust, heating up the just-cooled fluid. They rattle and resonate. One of the planned upgrades on my '62 is a new set of trans cooler lines made of heavy-duty, armoured flexible hydraulic hose. I plan to come off the trans, run up along the subframe and then zag from there back across to the radiator cooler fittings.

I've seen some repop A body/slant6 lines available.

I changed a mangled set for a better used set on my '66 V100, it's not an quick job, a lot of parts need to be removed so as not to bend up the tubes.

Youre better off to run the fluid thru the factory cooler AND the auxilary external one, IF it wasn't unhooked because of a bad trans cooler tank within the radiator which would cross contaminate the trans and the cooling system.

I've got a set of cooler lines form an early 70s Dart. Interested?

Hi Reed,
I might be.
Still trying to decide what to do here. I'm thinking about using both the radiator tranny cooler and the auxilary.
I'm going to be installing a bunch of stuff on the car over the next week while all the help is in town! :D I love Christmas Visitors that like to work on cars! That and they're family, so they work cheap.
