I have a 1970 coronet 440 with a 225 slant six. Anyone know how many of these were made? I just put it up for sale on E-bay.

I don't have a breakdown on the slant6;
2dr sedan-1,236
2dr hrdtp-24,431
4dr sedan-33,258
6&9p wagon-7,736

Odds are buyer won't care about #s, it will end up with a 440 in anyway.

That was you eh? Neet car...I remember seeing a '70 Coronet 2dr sedan in a wrecking yard that had a slant in it. Only other one I've ever seen. I can tell you the 225 was the base engine in the Coronet line up to the 440 trim level. The 318 was standard in the 500 trim, 383 (with a 3spd manual for '70) was in the Super Bee, and the 440 in the R/T.

Sadly, Cecil is right. New owner will more than likly drop a V8 into it. The good thing about that is he will have to work for it, as there is no conversion kit available from Schumacher to convert through '72 B bodys from slants to 8's. He'll have to swap K frame's.

Why sell it? Its a cool car!

I agree! Hang on to it. I'd be afraid to sell that car to just anybody. I can see the swap meet parts-vendor slime eels getting a hold of it and... :(

I've got a buddy who has a /6 powered '70 Sattelite hardtop (with air conditioning, no less!). It's kinda rough, but all there and mostly unmolested. He says he's thinking of making it into a RoadRunner clone. I keep telling him he oughta keep the slant. He already has two '70 RoadRunners anyway (no he's not a jillionaire, he's owned 'em for years). My idea is that he should make it externally look like a 'Runner, except for the badges. Remove the moldings, paint it his favorite high impact color and add some Rallyes or Magnum 500s. Detail the engine bay to the Nth degree. Now that would get some double takes when the hood was up at all-Mopar shows. 8)

And get 20+ MPG to and from those Mopar shows :wink:

The same formula would work great on your Coronet, 'specially with that Bee/RT hood.
