Good morning from not so sunny RI - this is my first attempt at posting to the forum - although i have been reading/following it for about 2 years car info: 1975 dart swinger, slant six, and 904 mods: super six, 2 1/4 exhaust, electric fan, convert to manual steering, front and rear sway bars, new mp performance springs and torsion bars, poly bushings etc ... 8 1/4 rear w/3.23(i think , tag is rusted) limited slip current status : on jack stands gutted for sheet metal repairs my question is for dart270 - I am interested in the t5 bh adaptor, I have looked at most of the posts reguarding this and am wondering why you need to have the bellhusing ? is there welding involved or is this an adaptor plate ? your knowledge and info is greatly appreceiated. thanks jeff |

Thanks for reading and posting, Jeff. In order for the swap to be successful (no vibrations/breakage), you need to have the input shaft of the trans exactly concentric (within 0.003") with the crankshaft. This requires specific alignment of the adapter plate with the BH, then the BH with the block. If I just send out plates, they will almost certainly not be aligned well enough. Believe me, this is very important. Lou |
