Post subject:  missing flex plate

My project 66 dart came in pieces. Engine supposedly rebuilt and is out of the car, transmission is still in. I noticed there's no flexplate on the engine - where can I find a replacement? I've seen other posts about pre 68's might be different? Is there anything besides the flexplate I'll need?
thanks!

You will want to measure the diameter of the hole or the raised ridge on the end of the crank, to verify, whether you have the early or late crank. You will also nee the flex plate to crank mounting bolts, and the converter to flex plate mounting bolts. If the converter is in the trans, it has been resting on the seal, and most likely flatened it. If the converter is not in the trans, I would verify it is the correct one for the trans splines and the the crank pilot. I would install a new front seal in the trans, in any case.

Thanks! Do you know the diameter size that indicates the early crank? The converter is in the tranny but it's got a lot of surface rust - been sitting for 3 years. I wonder if I need to worry about that at all?

Dia of the early crank hole is approx 1.555 inches and the hole in the flex plate is 1.965 inches.
The late crank is: crank hole, 1.810 and the flex plate is 2.150
