Can anyone tell me if the wheel bolt pattern on my 86 Dodge van is the same as the bolt pattern on a 52 Ford pickup? I think they are both 5 on 5.5 bolt circles, but can that be confirmed? Thanks! P.S. I need to nkow by Sunday night since that is when the eBay auction ends for the rims I am looking at. Thanks again. |

Not if it's the same as trucks. Trucks went to a 5 x 5.5 in 84 or 85. |

Ford trucks as far back as the '60s had 5 on 5.5", not sure of the '50s Fords. |

And yes, the D, B and W series went to 5 on 5.5" in '85. The W series were 5 on 5.5" till '74, 5 on 4.5" till '84, then back to 5 on 5.5"! |

I did some digging on the web and I think the 52 Ford pickups did use 5 on 5.5. I measured my van and it is 5 on 5.5. Thanks for the replies! |

ACTUALLY.... the W series (4X4 truck) and AW (Ramcharger) started back to the 5 on 5-1/2 in '79 or '80, the ones that came from the factory with manual lockouts on the front wheels. Full time 4X4s those years were still 5 on 4-1/2. All the 4X4s had the 5 0n 5-1/2 starting in 81 with the body style change, it took 4 more years for the 2WD trucks and vans to catch up. I remember having to swap out rear ends in my buddys 87 van and he bought a whole, wrecked '84 from a guy down the street cheaper than the local JY wanted for the rear end. Both were 8-1/4 rears with the same ratio. I wound up putting the 87 axles and drums in the 84 housing to get him running again. |
