I am having a hard time trying to find a kickdown linkage for my Supersix conversion. Me and my neighborare exploring all possible options right now, he is a Ford guy but he wants to get this thing going as bad as I do! Anyway, has anybody here ever used the universal Lokar kickdown linkage kit. If so, would you please share any information that you have with me. Pictures would be great. I will need some information so I can fab up a bracket for this thing. Thanks

I've used it but not on a supersix, i've used it on a holley 4bbl and a gm throttle body. When I moved to this signle bbl throttle body I had to make a custom bracket.

Bottom cable is the throttle... sorry don't have any pictures of the other end on the transmission.

You can get the lokar cables from summit.

Are supersix kickdowns that hard to find? Every time I've searched slant six on ebay I've seen one or two

Lately Super six setups are few and far between. I really don't like to buy stuff of ebay, I consider it a last resort.

After months of searching junkyards in Georgia, I think I may be running out of options. Junkyards just don't have this kind of stuff anymore. It is all new stuff.

they have numerous amounts of these on ebay. They are called universal throttle cable brackets. i have one mounted on my car with a super six.

i also have the lokar kickdown cable. both work perfectly.

here is a link to a picture of my setup.

Any chance you have a little bit larger pic of that setup? I'd like to see the bracket on the end of the throttle shaft and how you attached the kickdown to the bottom.

I have one on my '66 Dart. I got irritated when I found it needed a fabricated bracket - so annoyed that I sent Lokar an angry, if fruitless, letter for not having mentioned that in their ads. My fabricating skills then weren't what they are now.

Mine actually isn't attached at the carb at all. Instead, I drilled a hole through the firewall and attached it to the accelerator pedal like a second throttle cable. I just sawed a shaft collar in half, ran the cable through the setscrew hole, and hose-clamped it to the bell crank that the pedal (from an Aspen) is mounted on. Works reasonably well, though I really ought to adjust it.

Anyway, now that I'm not quite as irritated with Lokar as I was then, I went out and bought one of their throttle cables for my EFI setup. It turned out to be a perfect match for the throttle body I'm using. There's a few pictures of the throttle cable on my blog, but no pictures of the kickdown linkage.

Will that universal kickdown linkage bracket work on a Carter BBD? I know it says univeral but I have seen special cases. Will I still have to change the lever on the side of the transmission. Was it hard to adjust? Thanks, this may set me into motion.

Jeb that is the correct bracket, and it also is the correct picture showing you how to mount the bracket. Rock on!

I have a kickdown linkage I just pulled at the local junkyard. It came off a Volare I think and it had a 2 barrel Carter. If you still need one I'll sell you this one.

I feel a little ignorant here, but I don't see any way of using the universal bracket with a stock throttle cable... Am I missing something, or would it require a bit more fabrication?

Will that universal throttle cable bracket work with a stock throttle cable? I have ordered a throttle cable for a v-8 F-body from NAPA.

May be able to fab up something using pieces of the old 1-barrel setup.
