Post subject:  Redding slant6/Inliner race schedule for 2006:

We just confirmed with Redding Raceway, the dated for (2) two-day slant6/inliner racing for 2006. The dates are: MAY 13-14 AND AGAIN ON AUGUST 26-27. Last years events were a kick in the butt...We got 14 runs in plus the bracket racing finals. A very low key event with lots of both stock slant6's and highly modified cars. We were given a $10.00 entry fee..Yes, $10.00 and that included tech...Where can you race for $10.00 a day? We had 14 cars both days and all want to do it again...MARK YOUR CALENDARS...MAY13-14 AND AGAIN AUGUST 26-27. Trophies+ cash for winners and runner-ups. Redding Raceway is right off I-5 and centrally located for both Central and Northern Calif/ Oregon/Nevada/Washington racers..whether stock or modified. We are trying to continue to make this a annual event so us West Coast slant6 racers will have something to look forward to each year as a slant6 get-together. Ask someone who was at the last two races...it is a great track with good management that supports slant6 racing. Mark your calendars and as always, you can contact myself or Doug about this event. Good to hear that we have 2006 dates "locked-in" for Redding.
Get the cars ready to race, looks like another great racing season is headed our way!

Post subject:  Redding slant6 races, May 13-14

I just talked with Seymour and the track manager and one either Saturday or Sunday , we will run only against other slant6 racers. Then on the opposite day, will mix with the inliners. I have firm commitments for 8 slant6 cars already and 6 possibles. This will give us another West Coast race and now will also let us get some points for the one race with only slant6 cars. Make your plans to be in Redding on May13-14. Please check with either Doug or myself for further track, logging, or any other questions. See you in Redding...Wayne "Swingin'Six" from Chico

Hello I'm bringing my '65 Belvedere 4 door sedan to Redding. It has a super six setup and electronic ignition. Otherwise stock. Maybe a 20 second car. I've never raced before so hoping to just have fun. I've been lurking around this site quite a while and have learned a lot from you guys. Thanks everyone! Look forward to meeting some of you in Redding. I'm from Eugene Oregon. Paul

Hi Paul: This is what we need more of..There are many members out there that for some reason, just want to keep their race/stock slant6 cars in the garage. Vegas was a prime example of many new racers getting off their *** and coming to a slant6 event. Most of the races are in the Southern states so Redding, Calif. West Coast is perfect for us slant6er's to have our own race and actually get some points for our National Team (Jeffries Cowboys). At Vegas, there were 4 or 5 first time racers.. They all had fun and did very well and got lots of good advice on future "build ups" and racing suggestions.

At Redding, I will guarantee, you will get as many runs both days as you can handle. Here is a opportunity to get some seat time as well as a very inexpensive race weekend. The track manager gives the slant6ers a great weekend discount as he too wants this to be a bi-annual slant6 event.

Glad to have you join us Paul...please drop me a email @ waynee@dcsi.net or call at (530) 345-4222 and let me know your address, email, ect. Doug and I have a list of potential West Coast racers and would like to add your name to the growing list. Aren't there others like Paul out there that would like to get their slant6's to a event here in Northern Calif? Wayne in Chico
