I'm looking for recommendations for a carb to use with the Offy 4bbl intake manifold I just bought. My rebuild includes Hooker headers, -.100 off the head, Clifford torque cam. It's for a D-150 4X4 so grunt is king.
Thanks,
Dave

Well, the Holley 390 CFM is a good one, as would be the old 400 CFM Carter AFB if you can find one. ANother interesting option would be the Holley 4360 450 CFM Economaster carb. It is a spread bore like the Thermoquads.

I'm going with the Offey aluminum four barrel intake and a Holley 320 CFM (about the smallest available) double pumper carb this summer. Already have the set-up ready to go but can't risk taking the truck out of storage in the Winter with just primer on her.

The truck is a 65 D100 Sweptline with a 225. The linkeage part will be easy since the truck is already converted to cable link, it's manual tranny, so no kickdon mods, and best of all, manual choke cable already in place.

I'm not saying I would use one, but it is the righ size and there have been some good buildups done using it. Personally Iwould go for the AFB or the economaster over the Holley 390 CFM carb.

If Torque is really what you are after i say stick with a two barrel and try and track down a Holley 2305 staged two barrel. 350 CFM.
