would it be advisable to weld in the upper ball joint into control arm if threads are el toasto? also, how hard should it be to insert the UCA into place on frame mounts? it looks like i am a good 1/8" too wide fro the cam bolt mounts....???

That's a recipe for suicide, don't do it. Just get a new or decent recycled UCA.
