Post subject:  Carter Carb flooding, special gasket needed ???

The accelerator pump cam on my 1 barrel Holly 1920 broke,
I had a Carter BBS lying around and attached it. The carb started flooding
like the float was stuck and spewed gas all over the engine. When I took it off
I realized the gasket between the carb and intake mani might be crucial, different for the Carter vs. Holley since there seem to be vacuum channels
in the bottom of the carb/gasket, and especially an open channel right beneath the Carter fuel intake itself ! Q. anyone have either a junk Holley parts carb I could get the accelerator pump cam from, or does anyone know if the gasket is different for the Carter, if so where I can get the gasket ? Thanks ....SS

The 1920 and the BBS use the same base gasket. If your Carter is overflowing, it's because there's something the matter with it. Needle/seat stuck, float sunk, etc.
