I have one of those 2 piece aluminum intakes that has holes where the welds are. I was wondering if anyone has ever tried to fill these holes with an epoxy and been successful. I really want an aluminum, but can't seem to find the one piece within my price range. I bought some of that POR 15 epoxy and was going to try to fill the holes with that. |

Those old aluminum manifolds may look bad, but not even leak. My Aspen has no problems with the stock 2 piece welded aluminum super intake. Did you test yours? or are you simply guessing that it will leak based on appearance. I think that JB weld sounds safe for holes, but might not work on a crack. Read the label, What ever you use must stand up to slightly hotter than boiling temps and be resistant to gasoline when cured. I think the worries about leaking aluminum manifold seams has been overstated by guys on ebay trying to unload cast iron manifolds without getting too much gripe about shipping. |
