I have a Dart /6 and the engine vibrates and shakes a little more than I would like. I was reccomended an engine treater called "Sea Foam." Does anyone have any experience with/ comments on this stuff.

Thanks guys!

My motor smoked like a fire. Put some seafoam in it...just when the ignition switch died too. So it sat for a week with the sea foam in the cylinders and now no more smoke. However i'm not sure how it'd help the shake/vibration.

Did you check the motor mounts? Possibly a miss?

Post subject:  seafoam

local emergency vehicle tech --swears by the stuff -- he puts it in everything that deals with internal combustion -- lawnmowr to the diesel powered trucks--

He buys it by the case for his fleet of vehicles

I figured that was pretty good real world testimony---

as for shaking -- you might want to adjust your valves & do a good tune-up -- suprising what the adjustment will smooth out!!!!!

I foregot to mention the smoking, which it was doing. I'll give it a try.

I have had good results with seafoam, but on neglected engines with hydraulic lifters. I don't think it will have much effect on a solid lifter motor, except possibly if you have some stuck rings. On the other hand "can't hurt".

I've used it. Don't know if it really did any good, but it sure did make a lot of smoke come out the tailpipe.

says on the bottle it will make smoke, you should let it keep on runnin. you DID follow the directions right? letting it sit and all...i spent a good hour playing with my motor when it was smoking. a lot of it was just letting it sit there and idle away, some sea foam & sitting...patience lol

An evil alternative to seaform. Warm up the engine, pull the plugs, spray cylinder full of mopar combustion chamber cleaner, reinstall plugs, let sit 1 hour. The mopar stuff is foaming so it won't hydrolock a slant after it has settled back into a liquid. After it sits for an hour attempt to start it will be hard. It will leave the nastiest thickest cloud of stinky foul smoke you've ever seen. Don't do this if you have open house windows or neighbors.
